Join us to paint the background of a 16x20 canvas for our
"Beach memories" painting event! Ages 21+ only
You will go home with the materials and easy instructions to add little footprints (or paw prints) to the sand to help preserve your summer 2024 memories for years to come as those little footprints get bigger! Registration is required by July 23 to participate. $10 Registration fee - $30 balance due night of event.

Join us for the last Saturday of summer vacation and tie dye a T-shirt!
The LAYAYA Tie Dye Bar will be open from 11am - 1pm Saturday August 3rd. Registration is required by July 27th.
$10 Registration fee and Plaquemines Parish Recreation Department will pay the balance of your fee ($10) if you are a Plaquemines Parish resident!
Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY ENGINEERING ART & MATH
What is a LAYAYA S.T.E.A.M. Team? We use art as a vehicle to teach aspects of science, technology, engineering, art & math across our departments with special projects to give students vital skills and open doors to success! Whether we are using computer aided design software to make plans for a large sculpture, learning about film editing during a performing arts production, building park benches in our workshop class, or exploring science experiments during our "Weird Science" sessions - hands on learning through creativity is key to the success of our LAYAYA participants! Our classes are taught by dedicated and experienced mentors. Using proven teaching strategies, they make sure that every student finds a path to success and explores options for future career paths through creativity, real-life skills and fun! Learn about upcoming STEAM Team sessions and sign up for a 1 day session or a 6 month project!

Founded in 2013, LAYAYA is an all-volunteer 501c3 nonprofit organization that strives to ensure opportunities for youth to do something creative and positive with their talents and their time. The goal of LAYAYA is to provide an environment that will inspire youth to optimize opportunities for personal growth and development by building both community and self-awareness through the arts and STEAM Programing.
